royalty and Awakening

Buddha and Jesus give us a royal message.

This story is for the sake of this message, entertainment. In Reality Nothing has happened, and so this maya or entertainment is all there is.

Unlike all the other gods, saints and prophets that have blessed and/or plagued history Buddha and Jesus were unique.

They were unique because they literally discarded everything they learned and experienced to be Awake. They had the authority and license to discard everything only because they were “royalty.”

Buddha was born a prince, Siddhartha Gautama. When he was young his parents isolated him from all the miseries of life. When he finally discovered that life was just a collection of limitless sorrows it hit him hard enough to make him leave his “royalty.” And so he discarded everything he had – like his royalty, wealth, family, wife and child -- to find some sort of meaning to life. He went to all sorts of teachers, experts, scriptures, priests and prophets only to also discard

everything they taught him; and he also ignored everything they told him to do. He could do this only because he was royalty, a prince.

There is a huge message in Buddha’s story: ONLY when he discarded all his material possessions and then everything he – and OTHERS -- had learned and experienced could he have the NOTHING he needed to be Enlightened, Awake. This Nothing (Self, Kundalini) literally killed the prince, mind, called Siddhartha Gautama to leave the “awake one” called Buddha.

Jesus’ story is much the same. If we can take the bible literally then Jesus was also of “royal” blood. If it was not for his royalty he could never have had the authority or license to discard all the scriptures and their experts, priests and prophets, to give the world the same message about Nothing as did Buddha. Indeed, from his miracles, and Love, and his followers, devotees, it is very difficult to understand Jesus unless we take him to be Buddha, or at least a Buddhist.

The royal message is that each one of us is Buddha and Jesus; as well as anything else we can imagine. To realize this all we have to do is echo what they did – accept that we are the same royalty called the Self. Only when we can accept that we are royalty can we then have the same license and authority to discard all knowledge and experience so that we can also be the same Nothing that Jesus and Buddha needed to be Awake.

The message: the more we hold onto rituals, scriptures, practices, experience and knowledge the more they work as an impenetrable barrier that prevents us from being the Nothing we need to be Awake.

OR, we have been eternally Awake, only thoughts can think otherwise.
