As Sankara says it is real enough whilst one is in it, but that doesn't make it real or bestow any validity. Yoga is said to be breaking the connection to pain..........It appears that when one is realised one can dispassionatley observe pain, as 'pain is happening'. I think the first step is to realise that what we call God is just a concept to describe the sum total of all the individuals or jivas, and there is no benevelant Being conducting affairs. Within illusion 'God' is just the energy and karma is the drive and mover. It is all down to us, that makes some people lonely but it is the cause of pain. I think in the scriptures not saying the name of God came from a misunderstanding that Nirguna is only a negative description. In the end result it never happened at all.............ONS...Tony.
