Guest guest
Namaste, Why is there suffering? This is because of misreading the situation. If we give some validity to the world, which I as a follower of Ajativada do not, there appears to be suffering. This suffering is caused by attachment. It is the belief that the combination of aggregates is a person or a thing in itself. It is this sense of individuality that causes pain. As Sankara said--Death is separation from our desires/attachments. If one feels 'all is one', truly, then when one's dog dies or a person, nothing has actually happened but a rearrangment of the aggregates. Does the ocean worry about a wave cresting out of existence and back into the ocean? It this entanglement that causes suffering. For are the molecules and atoms of a dying person suffering? No of course not. So it is the aggregates and the false perception of same that it the root of the suffering. In the end it is attachment that causes pain.......ONS..Tony.
