Maya more or less means illusion, hallucination, a dream.

Undiluted by the needs and wants of society, and her politicians, and religions, maya means fiction.

If Reality is an unfathomable ocean of Joy in which the universe is not even an imaginary drop then, compared to this Reality, the universe or maya has to be pure and unadulterated fiction. Compared to Reality this maya is as much fiction as is a cartoon movie.

In maya the Self plays the roles of all its imaginary characters in a game of hide and seek with itself.

In this fiction called maya there can be no losers or winners because first, it is fiction, and secondly, all the roles are played by the Self.

Those rare imaginary-doers that are the sort of eyes and ears of the Self in this maya are Awake non-doers. All other imaginary-doers in the fiction called maya can be called egos.

This maya is entertainment for non-doers but only because it is an wild-goose-chase for egos.

Egos exercise futility as they turn this maya into a wild-goose-chase called karma. Egos perform this wild-goose-chase by creating their dualities simply by chasing them all over the place maya needs to be entertaining.

Egos create pain, for example, by chasing pleasure; they create evil by chasing good… and they need justice so they can have their injustice.

Those rare egos who get sick and tired of this wild-goose-chase called karma usually become students of these Awake non-doers.

And when these students also Realize that karma is a wild-goose chase then they become these Awake non-doers that are the eyes and ears of the Self that enjoys the show as egos keep creating all their dualities simply by chasing them all over the place this maya needs for its entertainment.
