Namaste All, IMHO,

Following up on my post about non duality persisting because of the

oscillation between the so called daily awake state and the dream

state.

I first came across this idea from the teachings/book of the

original Sankara some years ago.

I found it to be so true by observation.

I had some practise in observation by using the Buddhist Vipassana

method, as taught by S.N. Goenka, and I still use the Buddha's

original meditation technique to some success.

I would notice what I was observing during the day and especially

things that seemed to make an impression. I would then examine the

dreams that I could remember, and lastly what thoughts I had in the

following day. I would usually see a connection, convincing me that

the oscillation theory of Sankara was accurate. And that it was all

one large 'mess of impressions' awake or dream.

Finally I had to accept that no matter what I thought consciously

during the day, the impressions of the dream or subconscious state

were always not so far away.

One result of this study it to make one aware of returning to the

body after sleep, before one is fully awake. Noticing oneself

snoring or whatever. I haven't foud Sankara to be innacurate yet,

although he obviously taught at different almost contradictory

levels........ONS..Tony.
