Namaste, Have you considered that you are still only outlining matter? And that there is a subtle and causal body within illusion? Even though I have used the idea of the big bang and all being matter/energy. At pralaya the whole material universe is subsumed, but that leaves the subtle and causal. At Mahapralaya even the subtle is subsumed. Namaste S, Well 'Consciousness' can be different things to different people. To some it is an impediment enjoyed by the Jiva, to others it may represent the Universal Mind and to others it is associated with Saguna Brahman. The cause of this illusion is nescience, which essentially is the causal body, and to some comes later than consciousness. Within this illusion there is IMO only karma and prana. So that probably answers your question. Everything else is a mental construct or variation of One, to enable understanding for some. Ultimately energy/prana is also an illusion.....ONS....Tony. For to be conscious infers some attribute to be conscious of. So in the end consciousness itself doesn't exist at all and never happened. However attributing some temporary validity to this world or jagat, as Sankara did; one arrives at the question of what is energy? Is it energy in the prakriti state before the disturbance of the gunas? Is the action of disturbing the gunas actually karma? Prana is the sanskrit for energy anyway. At what level does material become gross or subtle? Is a meson or boson or quark part of the subtle or material manifestation? As you see the questions are interminable and unanswerable at this point in time.
