Namaste, Astral projection happens everynight when we sleep. On the occasions it has happened to me it has been mostly spontaneous and involuntary. Mental projection is probably more use, although I do notice a rather sudden return/bump in my sola plexus after some meditations. As with the energy or prana-k experiences, I just note them and try not to develop siddhis, or more experiences. To people on a spiritual and sadhanic path, these things happen naturally and should be mostly observed but not attached to.....ONS...Tony. P.S. If you really want to get into 'Astral' travel at a rather low level then I suggest reading Monroe. --- End forwarded message ---

Namaste, Of course it is on the border and dream plane, where else, but there is a different kind of consciousness with it. There are certain tests one can do if one is into these, siddhis and I am not. As I have said most of the times it happened to me it was involuntary or spontaneous. On a couple of other occasions, I have used 'mental travel', which is subtler than Astral by at least 7 planes and is amorphous or 'non solid form'. I have done this usually associated with a death and some knowledge or connection was required. Belive me I am quite a sceptic, but not to the point of believing we don't consist of sub atomic and subtle 'particles'. There are tests to do anyway. If someone comes to me and tells me they are astral traveling a lot. I suggest putting a book on a cupboard or high shelf with a page open randomly, and see if they can name and number the page. I must agree with Devi though your language is rather tamasic and rajasic and not conducive to effective sadhana. Being a verbal non dualist or vndist doesn't cut it. You will find that out soon enough- ----------ONS....Tony. --- End forwarded message ---

The reason I used the term '7' planes is just a mjental construct of course. In illusion everything is one energy at different subtleties that's all. At the lowest it is gross material, then come the 'Astral' planes which are the 'Heavens' of most beliefs, and above the Astral are the mental which take no perceived forms, except amorphous energy forms and light. I use the number 7 to indicate there are different levels of astral and mental. Everything from the Bhu, Bhuvah all the way to the Brahmaloka etc etc. I still think Astral travelling is a siddhi. A siddhi we all have of course. It happens on the non gross material plane, the border or the astral. It is part of our nightly dreams, where we have dreams, cognitive dreams and astral and mental travelling. So on a daily awake basis it is like conscious dreaming. Sometimes for some people a bump can be felt in the chest or solar plexus area as the 'bodies' reintegrate, -not always. This has been my experience anyway. Mental travelling is where we bypass the lower formlike planes or astral and go straight to the amorphous mental levels. In other words we don't need to separate our astral bodies so to speak. This is used mainly in my opinion for a learning experience of some kind. As I have said they aren't really for diversion or entertainment, but they do prove we aren't the physical body. As I said they happened to me involuntarily, so I don't pursue them normally. The mental I learned in India from a Yogi but that is another story. Many people are accomplished and practised astral travellers, and I don't count myself amongst them nor desire to. I'm better at the mental anyay. What is the point of more experiences to bind one?..........ONS.......Tony. --- End forwarded message ---
