Namaste,

A Guru of some kind is necessary on the early path. Eventually one

has to use only the 'Inner Guru'. Ramana taught by example, so his

Guru was a mountain, all being 'God', a point of concentration for

the Inner Guru. Same with Lakshmana Swamy, it is one's own Inner

Peace that is felt whilst relaxing in their company....ONS...Tony.

To another

question Master said: The best is heart to heart speech and heart to heart

hearing. That is the best upadesa.

D.: Is not

guidance from Guru necessary?

M.: Are you

apart from Guru?

D.: Is

proximity helpful?

M.: Do you

mean physical proximity? What is the good of it? The mind

alone

matters. The mind must be contacted.

Namaste,

Yes it is like two lumps of ice in a pond, one is the Guru and the

other is the disciple. The disciple thinks the Guru gives him water

when they are both in water.Once when asked about someone who didn't

have a Guru, Ramana referred to the Inner Self as his

Guru.........ONS...Tony.
