They also had their own temple at Mt Carmel, plus they avoided the Jerusalem Temple for they would become 'unclean' as animals were bought and killed there. Jesus going into the temple was not to do with money changing per se but the sale of animals for sacrifice......Jesus said His Father didn't need burnt offerings.
