Pure non violence is of course Ahimsa which in essence means no

energy hurting or devouring other energy. So the word can be

interchanged with NirGuna, Nirvana, Peace, Silence, even Ajativada.

Everything is an ideal, until realisation. Unfortunately without the

ideal of Daya or compassion, which includes Ahimsa, one cannot

purify one's mind and therefore never be realised. It is as simple

as that!

 

With regard to the British, it wasn't the riots or sit downs alone,

that drove them out, it really was a promise that the Labour Party

had given prior to the war; That if ever they were elected they

would give Home Rule or Dominium Status to India. They were also

well connected to Gandhi

 

My late father was an Irish Born officer in the Indian Army, Pune

and North West Frontier, and had conversations with Gandhi. Gandhi

said the non violent campaign would only work against the British

not any other coloniser including the USA. Presumably because after

200 years many Brits had absorbed the Vedanta, even if it was

through osmosis...............ONS..Tony.
