Varna and caste.

Namaste IMHO,

 

The idea of keeping the race or castes clean etc, goes back millions

of years. In fact to the time when there were different species of

man or hominid on the planet, as opposed to homo sapiens sapiens.

There were homo sapiens, single, there was Neanderthal, and various

other homo erectus et.

 

As most hominids integrated or somehow ended up with just homo

sapiens sapiens, not withstanding big foot and the yeti, the varna

system was modified to suit the conditions of the time.

 

This time it was built on natural tendencies, intelligence and

awareness and carried on with Dharma.

 

Nowadays with the Vaisyas running everything instead of the

Brahmins, the world is upside down, and caste is used to preserve

turf and privilege. Some are even outside the castes.

 

This is similar to the situation in the West where we have Upper

class, middle class and working class, except in India it is written

in stone and passed on as a birthright not a level of aspired to.

 

So essentially the Varna system was corrupted and now really doesn't

exist except in poor dim reflection..........ONS...Tony.
