Brahmachari and Sanyas seem to me to be states of mind not body. If one has surrendered then it is not the small ego that does the work. It is death whilst being in the body so to speak, as Sankara said death is just a separation from our desires/attachments. Rama and Krishna were essentially Grihastas as well? It didn't stop them from taking Mukti or taking Mukti simultaneous with birth...So I would say the oath of a sanyassin is only really possible at an advanced stage, when it really isn't necessary at all anymore. There are many Grihastas who achieved Moksha.......ONS...Tony.
