Instead of our present societies where we are hypnotised by consumer goods, greed, narcissim and selfishness.I actually see places like Cuba having an easier transition into this field due to their needs having to be adjusted. For example after the soviets couldn't supply their oil and buy their sugar, they were forced to license some private enterprise and invite in European and Canadian companies. However their surprising innovation was in the land use. As they had no money for chemical fertilizers due to the usa embargo and other stuff they had to innovate. So they returned to small farmers and they planted all kinds of plants which had their own insecticide.
