The French were a lot more violent as the example of Algeria and Indo- China indicate,(literally millions people were killed). The Portuguese and Spanish were not much different from the French. Look at Mozambique, Angola, South America etc etc...millions killed again! The British occupation of India prevented the Muslims from taking and consolidating their gains over the entire country. Name one country that the Muslims conquered and stayed where the entire country isn't Muslim? Gandhiji said the non violent campaign would have only worked on the British not the other colonial powers. Possible because of the Indianisation of the British to some extent. Also when the non British colonialists left they left little behind. My parents are Irish and we have a prophecy of old, that in the end times 'An Irishman will weep upon the grave of an Englishman'. The Irish dont hold a candle for British Colonialism either. I don't support Colonialism neither did my father, although he was an officer in the Indian Army. Yes you are right what has happened in India to the Sudras and Dalits/Harijans far outweighs the Indian Mutiny or the Amritsar Massacre. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6159541.stm Within illusion it is all a play of karma that's all. India was left with its religions, sects and philosophy intact and the British left with this influence on them..........ONS...Tony.
