It is always in the past. The experience comes up as an event in the past when we think about it and only when we think about it. Whenever there is an actual experience, there is no experiencer. Any experience is necessarily an impersonal experience. It is an impersonal event which assumes personality, which assumes the individuality, only when the "me" thinks of the experience.
