Guest guest
The following is a verse from Valmiki Ramayana which stresses the need for developing detachment towards relations and possessions:-- yathA kAshTham ca kAshTham ca sameyAtAm mahArNave sametya tu vyapeyAtAm kAlam AsAdya kancana | evam bhAryASca putrASca jnAtayaSca vasUni ca sametya vyavadhAvanti dhruvo hyeshAm vinAbhavaH || Ayodhyakanda, ch. 105, sl. 27 Just as two logs of wood come together by chance in an ocean, float together for some time, and then separate, forced by some current or wave, perhaps never to meet again, so also wife, dependents, sons, relations and wealth come to you only to separate later. Their separation is inevitable.
