Religion comes from the latin re ligio or bind back. The origin of

present day religions goes back to maybe a couple of thousand years

ago or more. They originally were a way of programming and teaching

people of whence they came so to speak. However now they are just a

way of manipulating people's devotion for egotistic ends.

Spirituality is another thing altogether, which in some ways is

connected with its base level of superstitions. Which essentially

revolve around worshipping spirits and Devas/Angels etc..At least

this shows the connection between the subtle and material worlds.

Trying to understand a Personal God who can't help them anyway is

beyond them at this stage, but at least they know that subtle beings

can influence. Just about all Devotees are really aspiring devotees

as a real devotess is a realised human.

 

All of these beliefs and superstition belong to the illusion

called 'Mind'. and really are only about achieving ekagratha or one-

pointedness....all else is just confusion of mind.........Cheers
