The only difference between the waking and dream state is time and density, that's if we give any validity to both, for argument's sake. The 'stuff' of dreams is also material but finer and more subtle than gross physical. Stuff in dreams is not subject to time although there is an appearance of time in the dream. Dream objects deconstruct into dream stuff just as gross physical deconstruct into disorganised matter after a while...time being the difference.
