Guest guest
We are exploring more in the Kattu Siva area. In this posting and the one that follows I will show excellent work that is being done to renew a part of Arunachala's Inner Path that has gone out of use. In the 'old days', I am not sure exactly when, maybe 40 or 50 years ago, the Inner Path did not go around the small hill at the west end, called by some 'Parvati Hill'. Instead there was a more direct way over a low pass that went from the Kattu Siva area on the southwest side of Arunachala to the Adi Anamalai area on the north side of the mountain. This first posting shows the exploration that Carol and I did to find this path. http://richardarunachala.wordpress.com/2008/11/15/secrets-of-arunachala-kattu-si\ va-inner-path-renewal-part-1/ Enjoy! Guest guest
Richard, Do you come back & forth to your hotel or do you spend the nights at the caves? Are you not afraid of snakes and such? Thank you for this service, because of which we are able to get so much good information. sundar , " Richard Clarke " <richard wrote: > > We are exploring more in the Kattu Siva area. Guest guest
This is a wonderful question, because I was wondering if it is ok to spend nights in on the hill...in caves. I would love to do this. What peace. Namaste, Soul , " Sundararajan " <sundar22ca wrote: > > Richard, > Do you come back & forth to your hotel or do you spend the nights at > the caves? Guest guest
Dear Friends, The controlling authority, the Forest Department, does not like people to stay in the caves. However I understand they do not check frequently. I hear that the most popular place, Aum Amma's cave is checked about once a week. there are others I am sure are never checked. We live in a house that is about 1 km away from the hill, and go home at night. I have heard of people staying in the caves and sometimes see a fire at night from some of the caves on the hill. I don;t know about snakes. I see them sometimes when we walk. When I see them they are moving away from us as fast as they go. Perhaps some of my posts can give you ideas about this. And we can talk when you come here. Guest guest
Dear Richard, It seems a night in the caves is not a particularly wise idea!! Never mind. I will be happy enough just to be there. Would it be possible to meet with you when I am there?
