Guest guest
dear richard,.there two mistakes i would like to point out for your info.the first is the lord with two consorts is lord muruga sitting on the peacock.the second one is lord ganesa sitting on mooshiga (Rat family). you missed the elephant face with the trunk which you are familiar with.genarally in all saiva temples only idols of the siva family members are taken for a such a procession and like wise in all vaishnava temples vishnu family and his various manifestations like the ten avatars.baskaran Add more friends to your messenger and enjoy! Guest guest
Dear Baskaran, Thank you for the corrections. What you say about the Gods in Siva temples makes perfect sense. There is SO MUCH here of which I am so ignorant. Still it is beautiful. As I know more of the symbols, AND THEIR NONDUAL MEANSING, then they do take on much more meaning. I know something of the nondual meaning of Ganesh, What can you tell me about Skanda/Murgan? Also, I know that Murgan is very propular in South India. I don't really know why. I updated the post. Can you make sure that I did it in the right places?
