Guest guest
Day by Day with Bhagavan________2-12-45This morning the Dowager Rani of Vizianagaram with twoor three others came to the hall, having arrived at the Asramamlast night. Dr. Srinivasa Rao was massaging Bhagavan's feet.Bhagavan told Dr. Srinivasa Rao, "You go and sit; otherwisethey would come and ask what is the matter with Bhagavan'shealth." Doctor accordingly stopped massaging. Bhagavan doesnot like any fuss to be made about him on any account. In the afternoon I showed a book called Wonderful Indiato Bhagavan. It contained many pictures and Bhagavan wentthrough the book for more than an hour, looking at the pictures.4-12-45About the middle of last month certain rearrangementswere made in the hall, a railing put round Bhagavan's couchon the western and southern sides, all the shelves removed tothe eastern half of the hall, etc. When all this was done Iremarked such crowding of furniture near Bhagavan's couchmight increase the bug-pest. Then we spoke of insecticidesand about DDT, the most effective insecticide discoveredduring the war. This morning Lt. Shroff brought some DDTand sprayed it in the hall and on the furniture, includingBhagavan's sofa. Bhagavan advised it should be tried on thecow-shed and he was very solicitous that if possible the cowsshould be rid of all flies now troubling them. Lt. Shroff leftsome DDT in the Asramam with instructions as to how itshould be used. We found the Mauni had already with him acutting from some paper in which full instructions about theuse of DDT were given.
