Guest guest
Pradosh Vrat On the thirteenth day (trayodashi) of the bright and dark fortnights of every month the period of seventy-two minutes (three ghatkas) before sunset is referred to as `pradosh'. Lord Shiva is the deity of this vowed religious observance. On this day one should fast the whole day and at night after worshipping Lord Shiva ritualistically, should have a meal. It is said that during the pradosh period one should not study the Vedas as this vowed religious observance is performed at night while the Vedas are to be studied during the day, before sunset. This vowed religious observance should be performed for three to twelve years. If the pradosh in the dark fortnight falls on Saturday then it is considered to be more fruitful.
