Guest guest
Dear friends The new version of FREE Vedic astro-utilities software, "Vjyotish-exl" (ver 08.06) has just been released and is now available for download at following web-location: http://www.howisyourdaytoday.com/DwnlodVJ.htm The software includes precise calculations of Chaughadia muhurtas, Planetary-Hora (Planetary hours), Rahu kaal, Gulika-kaal and Yamaghantaka, The software incorporates a huge database of geo-coordinates of all major cities of the world. Thus, all these calculations can be done precisely for your current location. Besides the above calculations, software also include module to calculate your Vedic ascendant, Moon-sign, Janma-Nakshatra, Janka-naamaakshara etc., The latest addition in the software is the calculation of Planetary-Hora (Planetary hours). The complete details of these free astrological tools and utilities may be read at following location: http://www.howisyourdaytoday.com/FreeUtil.htm The key features of the software are as follows: 1. Highest degree of precision in muhurta timings: The software provides highest degree of precision in muhurta timings. All muhurtas are calculated exactly for the desired geo-graphical coordinates, using precise Sun-rise and Sun-set timings of concerned location itself. Remember, Chaughadiya, Planetary hours, Rahu-kaal, Yamghantak and Gulika calculations are primarily based on correct determination of Sun rise and Sun set timings. 2. Sun-rise and Sun-set calculations as suggested in our ancient Vedic scriptures: The Sun-rise and Sun-set timings are calculated for the "Middle of Sun-disk", as suggested in our ancient Vedic scriptures. Many almanacs ('Panchangas') and astrology softwares are found using Sun-rise and Sun-set timings for the "Edge of Sun-disk", which is basically wrong and error in shown timings for various muhurtas may be up to several minutes. 3. Simultaneously calculation and integration of "Rahu-kaal" also: Many Jyotish scholars had advised to avoid 'Rahu-kaal' timings, even if, otherwise, it is a good Chaughadiya ('Amrita' or 'Shubha'). Program simultaneously calculates "Rahu-kaal" also and underlines this highly inauspicious time with red colour and marks it as [bad], even if it is 'Amrita' or 'Shubha' Chaughadiya. You need not to refer Rahu-kaal table separately. 4. Provision for "Day Light Saving Time" (DST) adjustments: In some regions of the globe, watches are moved ahead by one hour during summer months. It is called 'Day-Light Saving Time'. The DST gets adjusted in all shown timings (like, Sunrise, Sunset, Muhurta start and end timings) of the concerned date. 5. In-built global geographical coordinate database (atlas): Program comes with huge in-built geographical coordinate database, consisting of almost all Indian and US cities and towns. Besides that, at least, capital city of every country on this globe is included in the atlas. 6. Facility to enter the geographical coordinates manually: Program offers facility to enter and save the geographical coordinates of concerned place manually also. 7. Automatic adjustment of all timings according to the "Standard Time zone": Program picks up "Standard Time zone" (the difference from Greenwich Mean Time) and geographical coordinate of specified location automatically. All shown timings are adjusted accordingly. You have the facility to alter the time-zone values manually also, if needed. 8. You need not to enter your location every time: Your previous choice of location (and geographical coordinates) is automatically saved as "Default location" for the next run. You need not to enter your location every time. 9. The Chaughadiya/ Planetary hours / Rahu-kaal/ Gulika / Yamaghantak tables can be printed: All muhurta tables can be saved to a text file for printing purposes. A click on the <Print> push-button is all that is needed. Sample output of Rahu-kaal calculations may be viewed at following link: http://howisyourdaytoday.com/samples/samplevj/rahukaalsample.htm Sample output of Chaughadia calculations may be viewed at following link: http://howisyourdaytoday.com/samples/samplevj/chaughadiasample.htm Sample output of Chaughadia calculations may be viewed at following link:http://howisyourdaytoday.com/samples/samplevj/Horasample.htm Sample output of Gulika calculations may be viewed at following link: http://howisyourdaytoday.com/samples/samplevj/Gulikakaalsample.htm Sample output of Yamaghantak calculations may be viewed at following link: http://howisyourdaytoday.com/samples/samplevj/YamaGhantaksample.htm The software may be downloaded freely from the following location: http://howisyourdaytoday.com/DwnlodVJ.htm I would appreciate your suggestions for further improvements in this software. Guest guest
Dear friends, Some of the astrologers who may have misunderstood me when I do not allow their websites in every mail of theirs ( except on the 30th and in Astrologers List ) should now remove that fear from their minds. They should see the Links section where I have provided so many Links for good astrological sites which are useful. They too are in the same profession which I am, and they are not giving me any money to put their links or advertisements here. Same goes with this mail which has been approved. I am here for the benefit of the members of this Forum, prior than anything else. Which is why I allow only those websites which I feel may be useful for my Member friends, and the rest are free to advertise at no cost on the last day of the month. regards, Bhaskar. www.shrikrishnajyotish.com , "Shyam S. Guest guest
Dear Goelji, Namaste, Rahu and ketu need to be near the Moon and the Sun for the eclipses. In one case the nearness has to be 11 degrees and in the other it has to be 18 degrees. In the ancient times an average of 14 degrees was mentioned for both types of eclipses. Are you referring to that? May I add following points: 1. Upagrahas are of two categories: a. Non-luminous Upagrahas-These are calculated based on position of Sun at birth. These are sensitive points like Lagna, M.C. NODES ETC BUT SUBSIDIARY IN IMPORTANCE. They have importance in predictive astrology, but lot of resarch is needed to understand their effects. b. Upagraha based on the sun rise/set of the place . These are seven arcs like Zodiacal signs. If any planet falls in that arc only these Upagrahas will show their effect e.g. Arc of Saturn is called Gulika . Its middle point is called Mandi. A planet will be adversely influenced by Gulika(Mandi) , if it will fall in the angular arc provided by Saturn.Iff A PLANED AND MANDI ARE IN SAME ZODIACAL SIGN BUT THIS PLANET IS NOT IN THE ARC OF GULIKA, NEITHER GULICA OR MANDI WILL NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THIS PLANET.A PLANET OUTSIDE THE ARC OF GULIKA IS IN THE ARC PROVIDED BY ANOTHER PLANET'S. 2. If you calculate the True Rahu ,only then Eclipses could be predicted, Eclipses has profound effect on individual as well as Mundane affairs. Thus ,the argument that PARAMPARA TEACHES THAT MEAN RAHU SHOULD BE ADOPTED. THIS ARGUMENT IS MISPLACED AS IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO CALCULATE TRUE RAHU AT THAT TIMES. 3.Ayanamsa - It is another area of research. This can be decided when importance of Zodiacal degrees are properly understood. I feel the main issue in anyone to use the software is the extent of customization - in features & amp; calculations. Currently most of the software have features, but on calcuations - NO. Example: Gulika calculations is one such point. Providing User Defined through choice of Gulika calculations methods would make the software rich & amp; popular. Rich = for scientific research users Another Example: Ashtakvarga - Std variation or with Rahu or 449 - include all possible calculations. Parashara + Varahamihira differences. Adding Bhrigu Point, Sahams, Search feature for planetary positions across database of horoscopes.. etc.. You may get in touch with Mr. Sunil Nair for inputs on astro_calculation methods. Guest guest
Hello Got a note from my Guru. Rahu & Kethu were created during the Neelakanda episode. They are against Sun & Moon (Heaven side guys). That is why there is evil axis of Kala Sarpa Dosha. 90% of charts that I have seen, have it. Please explain the ramifications of transit of Rahu & Ketu in a particular house, owned by any planet. (KP principle is to read the effects of the owner of the house lord and results given by the sublord of the house for the event) Waiting to hear from avid practitioners, particularly from Sunil.
