The planet which has the highest degrees will be the atmakaraka. ishtdevta is to be checked fro the 5th lord, th the planet in 5th, The Navamsha depositor of the Moon, and the atmakaraka. Could you please suggest some books,learning material to learn it step by step. As per our famaily astrologer at kerala, I am chanting sudarshana mantra 8 times in the morning and evening. I am also chanting Hanuman chalisa (7 times) ,Lakshmi ashtakam,and Bhadrakali mantra,Maha Mritunjaya Mantra, Dhanwantri Manatra, Narasimha Mantra etc along with other slokas.But I have not studied these mantra/ Slokas under any Guru. I studied it from books and started to reproduce it . I don't know ,what i am doing is right or not. Kindly advice me in this regard also. My DOB is 9th July ,1958 and time of birth is 11.04 AM and place of birth is COCHIN ,Kerala.
