Jaya Siyaa Raam

I think there is no need for you to translate Hanumaan Chaaleesaa in

English, because it is available at many sites on Internet. Just type

in search box "hanuman chalisa in English" and it will give you many

sites.

Hope this will help you.

group. The postings by Kaushik Buddy are very interesting, worth

reading again and again. It is said about the Scriptures - the more

you read them, the more reasons you will find in them. So those of

you who have raised doubts on certain comments, please do not

misunderstand them. Our scripture are not to be taken literally, but

the meaning has to be grasped and understood. Just the difference as

to why the story of Lord Ram is called RAMCHARIT, while that of Sri

Krishna is called KRISHNA LEELA. My understanding is that Charit is

something we should follow in our daily lives, while Leela are those

acts which Gods can perform, we are spectators and should just follow

the drama. Whatever Sri Krishna did as part of his Leela can only be

done by Him. NO MORTAL CAN POSSIBLY ENACT THEM. Thus Leela. While

whatever Sri Ram did, as enumerated in the Ramcharitmanas, is for all

to understand, adopt

first, to help you with the spelling and grammatical corrections?

That way when Bhaskarji puts it in the files, we can have a pretty

decent presentation. But please give me a couple of days time to go

through it.

One of the most popularly read poetic compositions of our times,

after the Ramcharitmanas is the Hanuman Chalisa. Why is it called

Chalisa? Because it has forty verses (Chaupais) in praise of Sri

Hanuman. To be very optimistic, I am sure that of the Hindi speaking

population and many from other linguistic areas, who do believe in

Sri Hanuman, 90-95% read the Hanuman Chalisa everyday. Read it, but

how many of us understand the meaning of the verses? A very small

percentage. Padhna hai is liye roj padhte hain. Vishwas bhi to hai

ki padhne se weh sunenge. Yes Vishwas is a must in prayer, but we

must also try and understand what we are saying. To make it

understandable, the composer of these verses wrote it in Chalti

Bhasha and not in Sanskrit. While it may not be possible to type the

meaning in Hindi, using the English alphabet, I am undertaking an

effort to translate the verses into

> English and share it with our members. The first instalment of 10

verses will be available by next Monday. Hope you will all enjoy

going through it - Kaushikji you will have to help me out in this!!!
