If anybody knows it, let us know about it. (1) But for Hanumaan, Seetaa Jee bestowed him the boon of being Chiranjeevee. (2) In the same way Vibheeshan was also bestowed Chiranjeeve status by Shree Raam when he came to Shree Raam defecting Raavan. Maanas has the reference of it. (3) As for Bali after he had donated Tri-Lok to Vaaman, and still remained one Pag Bhoomi, he asked Bhagavaan to measure it on his head. Pleased with his Bhakti, He gave the rulership of Sutal Lok, made him Chiranjeevee and appointed him the Indra of next Manvantar. Chiranjeevee means " who lives for very long time " . In our houses the elders always bless children by saying " Chirjeevee (or Chiranjeevee) Raho " . It means that " You live long " . Normally people live for 100, 200, 500 or maybe thousands of years, such as the kings in Sat Yug lived or ruled for 30, 40 60 thousand years. They lived only in one single Yug. We have not heard anybody living in another Yug (or in two Yug) except Dwivid and Jaambvaan. They were in Raam's time as well as in Krishn's times. Jaambvaan is also Chiranjeevee, but Dwivid was killed by Balaraam Jee (read Bhaagvat, Uttaraardh of 10th Skandh). So what is the meaning of chiranjeevee. But in this sense their age is one Kalp only. Becaue when Brahmaa's night falls everything is destroyed except Sapt Rishi. So all these people have the age of one Kalp only - till Brahmaa's night falls. Hope this clarifies the meaning of Chiranjeevee. Which is why they are known as the " Chiranjeevis " . Their time is not limited to just the Kalpa or the dissolution and the re-evolution and they will remain eternal with every kalpa. I have not read the meaning of this word written anywhere, but I have just guessed by writings, such as-- (1) Vibheeshan is considered Chiranjeevee - Raam Ji blessed him that he would live and rule Lankaa till the end of the Kalp (2) Ashwatthaamaa has been appointed next Ved Vyaas (for the 29th Chaturyug - the present Chaturyug is the 28th one). (3) Raajaa Bali is appointed Indra for the next Manvantar - the present Manvamntar is the 7th one. (4) Besides there was a king who was chosen as the Manu of the next Manvantar, he was chosen by God and then He forecast that a flood will come and you will see a boat. You should sit in the boat and then I will preach you. I have forgotten his name, it was a very famous name. As soon as I will remember the story I will give you the whole story. Only that person was taken to next Kalp, because flood comes only when a Kalp is over. With him were only seven Rishi. That is how I guessed that Chiranjeevee means only one Kalp age. I would like to learn more about this if you have any idea about it.
