Dear Amrita ji,

Cusp is actually the beginning ( Bhava-arrambh)of any House, or portion

of Bhava-Sandhi.

For example if your ascendant is 20 Degree Taurus, we will write that

the Ascendant Cusp is 20 degree Leo.

regards/Bhaskar.

I still didn't understand..

with the mentioned example: if lagna is 20 degree taurus and we are writing Ascendant Cusp is 20 degree Leo. why we end up in leo? instead of gemini or aries?

I am sorry..I still didn't understand. :-)--- On Tue, 3/3/09, Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote:

I have two doubts:

Respected Bhaskarji,

As you have explained :-

//For example if your ascendant is 20 Degree Taurus, we will write that the

Ascendant Cusp is 20 degree Leo.//

Sir, in the above case ascendant is 20 degree Taurus, and the sign

before Taurus is Aries and the sign after Taurus is Gemini, so how

do we reach to Leo which is the 5th sign and write Ascendant Cusp as

20 degree Leo ?

Actually I did not understand ?

I am sorry to bother you sir.

Thanking you

Lata

Dear Amrita ji and Lata ji

Obviously thats a typo mistake from my side, and must thank you for informing

me. Sorry I made you confused.

We will actually write " Ascendant Cusp is 20 Degrees Taurus " and not Leo.

The term Cusp is more used in Western astrology and Indian KP, because exact

notations are taken here as to the beginning of the Cusp and the ending of the

same. While in traditional astrology the term " Cusp " appears too less

frequently, but the term " House " or " Bhava " is used more often in parlance.

regards/Bhaskar.
