Guest guest
Thank you Shri Tripathi ji for nice explaination on this issue. It was because, in general, especially in USA/Canada, I have been watching eroding of such values. They like to say , it looks like Phoney to them. I thought the same as you think. with regards and greetings,Davendra K. Gupta
Guest guest
Dear Davendra Ji, I live in the USA and have infact found that the parents are to blame not the children. If parents follow these customs and also explain clearly why we do these things, the children are very receptive. But if Parents do not model properly, how will children learn? Guest guest
Dear Devendra ji,I am sorry I was a little busy and could not attend to your query. I thank Mrityunjay Tripathi ji for taking care of it so nicely. I am sure it would’ve cleared your doubts. These are all social festivals, meant to fasten and strengthen the after-marriage family bonds, and times to show gratitude and thankfulness to family deities and elders for marital bliss and children. Amid the fun and gaiety, the women fast and offer Baiyna (which is generally food and sweet prepared by her) to her husband’s family. It is symbolic re-dedication to her family in law. The mother-in-law in-turn blesses her with symbolic things for marital bliss and prosperity in her house. RegardsNeelam
