Actually my dream was to

learn astrology in a group with some like minded people but my

experience in so many groups is not so good as I thought. Here we

have some good astrologers like Sunil Nair Ji who are willing to

guide us but we are not taking the opportunigy. So we are planning to

Dear Sushil ji,

 

If I may speak my two cents -- this worldly realm is really controlled

by the consumer's dream and not the provider's world-view ultimately.

Yes conspiracy theories may point at MNCs and industry running this

world and shaping our reality but consumers do have a big say. It was

the large userbase of baby boomers that ultimately shaped the

commercial world, indeed the entire worldly reality, due to their sheer

numbers! The business world with its myopic allegience to the bottom

line often depicted by this strange symbol '$' (a snake with a rod

going through it like a skewer!) may seem blind and unresponsive but it

has its ears to the ground and if you look around, you will see the

power of people (at least buying power and how it shapes the market of

demand and supply!).

 

What has that got to do with Jyotish? Everything!! Because Jyotish like

any other commodity or discipline is also governed by the desires and

wishes of the broad base of consumers. What they want, they ask and

often the 'numbers' win!

 

Even in a free forum! This is the worldly reality and what cannot be

supported or sustained must begin to crumble at its edges and begin to

show age!

 

The jyotish student and reading seeker has never been a homogenous

cohort. Each one wants a different product or thing and has different

expectations even when they wish to learn.

 

I envy (healthily and happily!) the modern generation of students,

seekers and learners, because they seem to have many forums/fora where

they can vent and express what they want and how. This luxury was not

available when I was trying to learn astrology many years ago. There

was not expectation, just gratitude when something was learned, whether

efficiently or after much investment of time and personal effort.

 

I am only hoping that the current generation of beginners and students

are learning astrology more efficiently and effectively than my

generation or earlier generations of astrologers did!
