Hi all

I have few doubts regarding tulasi pooja :-

1. Do we need to have two tulsi plants (one is not

enough for performing puja) ?

2. Which oil is to be used for lighting lamp in front

of tulsi plant ? - Ghee or til oil.

thanks

angel

Dear Angel,

It is not required that you have two plants to do pooja.

Ghee lamp is preferrable for tulasi pooja.

You must be aware of 'how to' perform pooja along with the mantras.

If you would like, i would post it back.

Thanks,

SM

Angel,

Tulasi takes away our sins and blesses us.

Also tulasi makes the relationship stronger between husband and wife.

Now are you looking to achieve anything specific?

The following is the daily ritual to do tulasi puja.

Purify your self by sprinkling some water on your self and reciting

following - (you can do this before starting your puja in your house

temple too)

Om apavitra pavitro va

sarvavar sthana gato pi va

yah smaret pundari kaksham

sabahya bhayantarah suchih

Have a pot of water (only so you can keep the plant moist, else it

will be spoiled)

Offer the water to tulasi,

Do tika of kum kum, chandan, abil (white) and akshat (rice)

While doing this recite the following

tulasi shri sakhi shive`

paap harini punya de

namaste narad nute

namo narayan priya

After this, you can do a pradakshina once (or five time if you

prefer) by reciting following

yani kani ca papani

brahma-hatyadikani ca

tani tani pranasyanti

pradaksinah pade pade

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

SM
