Dear Mandhir ji,

The significance is very much the same, as

a Lamp in a Church, or a Diya in a Temple.

Fire contains the essence of God in it

(Sun is the Living God whom one can see).

Fire is of many types- constructive like

the fire in the stomache which digests

the food, and destructive like the forest

Fire. Fire of the Temple Lamps

and Fire of the Burning ghats.

Burning ghee is the food of the Gods.

( The Yagnas are done through pouring

of Ghee in the wood)

They eat through smell. The burning

ghee invites the good Gods to

our House and their presence removes all

negative presence from the atmosphere

within the house. The Fire also extinguishes

the negative influences and the " Najar "

or the evil eye of the bad wishers of the

family.

In Fact, those who have good number of troubles

in their families, must have akhand lit diya

in their houses, all the time. If they cannot

afford Ghee, then go for tel, but do it.

You will see the effects within a weeks time,

without doubt.

regards,

Bhaskar.
