Brihaspati and Shukra -- Two Mahagurus, one assuming the leadership

of one camp, while the other one manages the other pole!

Brihaspati/Jupiter/Guru as " some " who were vocal and influential in

registering the WORD had insisted that so be HE named (!)

When as a little boy, I read the story of Kach and Devayani, I was

really touched by their love, by the beauty in that story! When I

grew up a few years more, the story sounded more romantic, as it WAS!

Someone in vanaprastha camp as lots of people on internet would love

to send me to -- I perhaps begin to se what Jupiter and Venus were

trying to do!

Even if for seemingly selfish reasons, namely = to gain the secret of

immortality <for all and sundry, I hope?> if one is willing to send

and potentially sacrifice one's beloved son for he gets sent

to " hell " as far as Devas were concerned, there has got to be a

lesson there, somewhere. That lesson is not about greed (no matter

what one distorts it into!) but about Trust, in the Ultimate Good!

The Ultimate OUTCOME!! For ALL CREATION...

The very trust for which mothers have sent their sons to fight JUST

wars to! For aeons and even today! Whatever the cause!

And there have been fathers who have willingly given their lives and

their life-savings in the trust that their daughters shall benefit

from their sacrifice. In the case of Shukracharyaa, it was with his

own life!

Who gambled the highest?

Jupiter who sent his son Kutch into enemy land to learn about the

Sanjivani vidya that Asuras possessed but the Devas did not!

Or Venus who let the son of his enemy enter his household, woo his

daughter and then be prepared to die-in-trust?

Quite frankly, I think in that allegory, Venus knew, while Jupiter

was gambling!

I say that because, Venus was prepared and DID put his life on the

line!

For the LOVE of his daughter and for HIS love for her!
