[9] When the sun is alone in the 6,7,10,12th house Mars will not be ashubh [bud] under these circumstances: [a] If the mercury is strong and well placed. Effects of ashubh Mars [indications]: [1] destroys virtuous [imaan dharm karma] acts [2] destroys wealth [3] destroys the name and fame [yash, samman] [4] makes a person cruel and irreligious [5] adversely affects wife [venus], mother[moon]; father [sun]; grandfather [Jupiter] [6] On the whole the life becomes miserable. Other indications of ashubh mars: [a] Living in a house facing south A tree next to the house or a branch hanging over the house [c] a bhatti [ halwai or hotel] or bhaar [bhadbhooja] adjacent to the house [d] a cemetery or a shamshan close to the house [e] A person himself being one eyed, dark complexion, or issueless or in the company of such persons.
