In the same way as Horas are divided into a day and can be chosen when the vara is not favouring the activity (Muhurta Cintamani 1.56) the nakshatras are placed in the same way in a day. Even if vara or nakshatra are bad they can be sunya or form a yoga which can deny the fruits of activity so Muhurta is very technical and broad science as whole Hora. Small note: when we talk about profession then tenth bhava is coming to our mind (altough trinity of prthvi-trikona controles the karma and karmayoga). There are four karakas for tenth bhava and Budha is the main one (Parasara).which is the main karaka for profession, therefore this graha is analyzed in D10 to see how mind is relating to concept of karmaphala (D10 shows important fruits - Parasara). Surya is also one of them as it shows resources and position (rajayoga karaka) but still Budha is more important as karma has to do a lot with Upachaya concept (developing).
