Definition of Kakshya

Dear All,

Just was trying to know the exact definition of kakshya. Somewhere i have

read that they are fixed in place, for example

Saturn 0 3.75 Jupiter 3.75 7.50 Mars 7.50 11.25 Sun 11.25 15.00 Venus

15.00 18.75 Mercury 18.75 22.50 Moon 22.50 26.25 Ascendant 26.25 30.00

the above are fixed in number and degrees in each of the rashis.

Now suppose the ascendant is Scorpion 19 degree then what would be the

kakshyas ?

If you are talking about ashtakavarga kakshyas, they are all equal of

3d 45 min each and are the 8 equal portions in a sign as under:

Kaks# Lord From

1 Saturn 0:00

2 Jupiter 3:45

3 Mars 7:30

4 Sun 11:15

5 Venus 15:00

6 Mercury 18:45 < this is the kakshya for Scorpio 19 lagna

7 Moon 22:30

8 Lagna 26:15

Due to different velocities the planets would on an average stay in a

Kakshya for varying lengths of time:

Sun 4 days

Moon 7 hrs

Mars 5 days

Mercury 2.5 days

Jupiter 45 days

Venus 3 days

Saturn 112 days

Nodes 71 days

Dear Sumit,

Do not get confused as these Kakshyas should be considered

after bhinastakavarga.

Transit of planets through  signs having less bindus can give you an idea

of nature of event whether it will be malefic or benefic but

this transit through kakshyas wont reflect whether an event

would happen or not.

So,its simply related to quality of event.

Regards

Anup

Thanx a lot Rohiniji,

Howevr, it gives me a feeling, that whenever in transit a planet travels in

own kakshya, it would mean the same for all the people, since the kakshyas

are fixed positions.

My condolences! Seriously!!

How can it be the same for all people, Sumit?

For the planet traversing a given zone may be bearing a different

promise for you specifically, as must be the zone that is ascribed to

one of the eight indicators!

You should, if sincere, study two books:

Dots of destiny, of course

and Digital astrology too, the latter by Late Houck.

Once you have studied texts like these away from TV, music, Internet

chatter and with examples and charts, you will find the answers more

readily.

Dear Rohiniji,

Thanx a lot. However, i was looking to interpret that when a planet was

traversing a particular planets kakshya, then for all the people it means

the same that the planet is traveliing in that planets kakshya only.

However again, i was reading C S Patel ji s book on Astakvarga where he

mentions that the kakshya division should start on bhav basis and not on

rasi basis. So suppose i have scorpion 19 degree lagna, then the 1st bhav

would be 4 degree scorpion to 4 degree sagitarus.

So as per CS Pateljis view, what appears to me is that for me the first

kakshya would be 4 degree scorpion to 7.75 degree scorpion. similarly the

others follow in the same order.

As far as the quality of results is concerned which you have taken to

understand from me, that will definitely depend on the bindus and rekhas

contributed by planets. This little knowledge has been bestowed upon me by

Gods grace though practically i have applied only on my chart.

I would kindly request you to elaborate on the above.

Thx & Regards

Dear Sumit,

Here is the ever-existant quandry! Let me elaborate for someone's

benefit, if not yours! :-)

In these fora, people post questions about what they read in some

book or article, in your case Mr. Patel's writings! In the case of

others it had been, " amuk amuk nameless astrologer told me to do this

pooja or this vrata etc. Should I follow his advice? " . In the latter

instance, often the ?querrant does not even post his or her birthdata!

Since the question in your mind arose after reading a book, you

should go to the author first!

Only after you have exhausted that resource should you hang out your

SOS (...---...) out in the cyber-open!

As far as I am concerned, the fact that kakshyas being 1/8th of any

rashi is the same VERITY as the utilization of TRUE positions of all

planets including the chaaya grihas and upagrahas and of course

including the lunar nodes -- whether moderators who cater to vedic

astrology publish such a view or not, to serve their personal agendas

and cause!

Dear Sumit ji,

I was just going through the book on dots of destiny, I found the same

thing there on pg 47.

Calculation is 30 deg / 8 = 3.3/4 of a sign, which is eventually 3 deg

45'.

Regards,

Anshul

Bajajji,

There are only eight indicators in this *system* that you speak of.

The seven planets and lagna. Each rashi in that chart has the same

order of kakshyas ruling each 1/8th of the sign.

Yes, it may tend to seem monotonous but consider the planets and

lagna as varying in their mandate across the board!

As the lagna changes, so does the sign rising and also change the

rularships of the same seven boring planets!

What began in the horoscope of kalapurusha as the epitome of love and

family became the self and the enemy that it was for itself and then

became representative of loss and also gain but only through

creation, to move on to other things ...

Like venus that I have hardly touched, one can go through the

remaining signs and planets and then all 12 lagnas and how they

change the perspective.

It is easy to get depressed in this reality of ours with all the

violence out there and in here too!

Long ago -- my Father gave me an important advice! " You can keep

asking questions all your life, beta, and feeling smug and empty or

you can begin to look for some answers for yourself and others! "

Bajaj-ji, the quest continues ...
