Guest guest
Dear Learned Astrologers, I am for some time seeking answers to following questions in life. I believe our vedic astroloy and you gurus have the answers. 1.Are we all 100% destined or do we have any free will in our life. i understand we all have to abide by karma theroy ( sanchita, prarabdha and agami) and we have to experience the fruits of our prarabdha ( either happy or sorrow) depending on the deeds in our previous lives. Are our main events in our life are fixed, for example marriage, is our life partner fixed by almighty ( as there is saying Runaanu bandena Pasu pathni suthalaya), do we really have the free will to choose our partner and the timing of these events also fixed ( according to Maha dasa / antar dasa) How far can we alter the problems ( punishments as a result of our paapa kaarya) indicated in the birth chart by following remedies. Please enlighten me on the above queries. Regards, Venkata Rami Reddy
Guest guest
Reddy ji, This is one of those evergreen topics in astrology. A simple consideration: If life is 100% destined and we have no control, then it can be deduced that we are not responsible for sins and bad deeds because those were 100% destined too! If that is true then we do not and never did generate karma! I am sure the absurdity of such a thought is obvious to you ;-) RR , " ramireddy4u " <ramireddy4u wrote: > > Dear Learned Astrologers, > > I am for some time seeking answers to following questions in life. > > I believe our vedic astroloy and you gurus have the answers. > > 1.Are we all 100% destined or do we have any free will in our life. > i understand we all have to abide by karma theroy ( sanchita, > prarabdha and agami) and we have to experience the fruits of our > prarabdha ( either happy or sorrow) depending on the deeds in our > previous lives. > > Are our main events in our life are fixed, for example marriage, is > our life partner fixed by almighty ( as there is saying Runaanu > bandena Pasu pathni suthalaya), do we really have the free will to > choose our partner and the timing of these events also fixed ( > according to Maha dasa / antar dasa) > > How far can we alter the problems ( punishments as a result of our > paapa kaarya) indicated in the birth chart by following remedies. > > Please enlighten me on the above queries. > > Regards, > Venkata Rami Reddy >
Guest guest
RR ji, Thank for your thoughts in such a simple and brilliant way. But neverthless we cannot overrule the destiny in our lives created by our own past karma in previous life. I humbly request you to what extent can we excersie free will and how do we know what is destiny and what is free will. Can we influence events in our life with our free will or does it follow the destiny pattern in store for us. How can one use the remedies prescribed by our rishis to over come sorrow / difficulities in our life. Please provide your valuble thoughts. Guest guest
Dear Shri Venkat Rami Reddy Ji and Shri Rohiniranjan Ji Jaya Siyaa Raam No doubt that it is an evergreen topic in astrology and for all those seeking some peace of mind following spirituality; but however, if we follow the teachings of Geetaa where Krishn Himself says that He dcides all our actions and decisions - that means all Karm whether they are Punya or Paap, are programed by HIM, not by " I " and " ME " do anything. That means that only Destiny guides all our actions through the fate or whatever. So nothing can be changed. If at all, anything changes by its own, or by remedies or any other means; according to Christianity, is the work of Devil. Guest guest
From my humble understanding, of Bhagwat Geet and such scriptures, and I am no astrologer or so, Karm and Destiny are intertwined like two creepers growing together. Karma begets destiny and destiny begets Karm. For some Karm is destiny and destiny is Karm. Giving up karm will be giving up destiny, but your destiny will propel you to karm, so you really can't avoid it. In Gita, Krishna bhagwan says that even breathing is Karm. Whatever you do will have consequences which you can't avoid, and those consequences have been ordained previously. I understand that even a person's asking question to an astrologer have been written up somewhere, thats why some knowledge fountains look for the right time to answer the questions too so that the native can attempt to do his\her related karm from a destined time. Just like the lyrics of the song by Jagjit Singh, Tu hi bigade, tu hi saware, is jag ke saare kaam. Hey Ram. Please do not send any questions to me. I am myself waiting for mine to be answered. Guest guest
Great discussion. My current feeling about this topic are also continuously changing. However, i've come to the conclusion that destiny is a result if karma. Granted, we are destined to do something. We are either destined to NOT do something or DO something. Krishna bhagwan said to focus on karma and dharma, because destiny will take care of it self. If we are guided by destiny then we do not have free-will. Thus, the only empowering aspect to human-life is our ability to reason. We are capable of reasoning between right and wrong, and that is our dharma. Our dharma is to reason between right and wrong, and focus on the truth. Through the truth we must perform our karma. Focusing on destiny, and even more dangerous, the future, people forget their purpose. People that are deemed " successful " in life are the ones that focus completely on the task(s) at hand. They let destiny make its own mark. Sri Ram said that we are capable of being more powerful than the gods. Through self-study and self-awareness it is possible. Guest guest
Please enlighten me: Does Bhagwan Krishna while relating Geeta Upadesh indicate that His Words were for the great unwashed like us or were those for the benefit of Arjuna? Perhaps we all should first strive to become like Arujuna and then many many janmaas later we may begin to understand what Lord Krishna was saying in Gita ;-) RR , sachin kumar chander <sachin_chander wrote: > > From my humble understanding, of Bhagwat Geet and such scriptures, and I am no astrologer or so, Karm and Destiny are intertwined like two creepers growing together. Guest guest
Reddyji, Seconds before I read your posting, interestingly, I posted something in this thread which might address some of what you ask. Or not! ;-) RR , Venkata Rami Reddy <ramireddy4u wrote: > > RR ji, > > Thank for your thoughts in such a simple and brilliant way. > > Regards > V R Reddy  > > > > ________________________________ > Rohiniranjan <rohini_ranjan > > Tuesday, 17 February, 2009 6:31:44 AM > Re: Destiny Vs Free will and role of remedies > > > Reddy ji, > > This is one of those evergreen topics in astrology. > > A simple consideration: If life is 100% destined and we have no > control, then it can be deduced that we are not responsible for sins > and bad deeds because those were 100% destined too!
