Guest guest
Dear friends, A good number of times we came across the problem of finding well structured study materials in Jyotish covering all the basic areas of the subject as covered in the Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra or Jaimini Sutram. In my humble opinion I find the two volume compendium of 'How to Judge Horoscopes' by late illustrious Dr. BV Raman very useful with quite a good number of examples. Similar good books having well structured materials in jyotish with sufficient number of horoscope examples covering some specific areas of life I had came across so far I am sharing for benefit of the beginners; Widowhood- by Mrs. Mridula Trivedi and Mr. TP Trivedi Marriage (two volumes book in English) Vivaha Sukh in Hindi)- by the same authors Children ( Santan Sukh in Hindi)-by the same authors Astrology of Profession- Shree K K Pathak are very good books on profession and surpasses the standard and quality of all other books available on the subject as on today Sade Sati- by Shree K N Rao Kal Sarp Yog- by Shree KN Rao Astrology of healings through gems- by Shri N N Saha Medical Astrology -by Jagannath Rao For students interested in use of star and sub-lord level dispositors and depositors the books- 'Astrologics of Kalchakra' -by Shree KB Bhaskaran 'Applications of cuspal interlinks'- by the same author 'Principles of cuspal interlinks' by the same author Except his special preference for Placidus system of house division and usage of Western systems of aspects- writings of Bhaskran deserve readings for thier originality of concept and its development. He intellligently blends the concept of 'Khara Taradhipati' i.e. the lord of 64th constellation into stellar astrology without openly declaring so. Other books on stellar astrology in my humble experience I personally did not find of having that level of original contributions to Jyotish. By the way beginners and intermediate level students may find the book 'Integrated Approach to Vedic Astrology' by Shree PVR Narashima Rao and 'Crux of Vedic Astrology' by Shree Sanjay Rath to get enough hints about the possible areas of expansion of the relams of Jyotish and its usage along with an ovarll picture on the subject. Hope more and more well structured jyotish study materials supported by original works would come forward in the future. With regards and best wishes, Mrutyunjay Tripathy
