Guest guest
.... Jyotish was received from God by Sages, as our accepted belief goes and also that Parashara was a Saint, as perhaps Jaimini and others too and those that followed (?) like Satyachaarya for instance were monks and hermits, if not sages and yet ... Most of their Jyotish writings deal with householder issues: Education, earning, marriage, having children, progressing in worldly ways (rajyogas, dhanyogas, bhogas), how to deal with sickness and treat it, how to deal with enemies (real or perceived) and how to cope with adversity (Householder's bane, hermit's boon) and remedies which essentially one would say enable one to dodge Karma's arrow and muhurta which introduces the JwALATARANGA of hope and empowerment through freedom of choice and Free-Will! I wonder why Saints would waste so much of their personal time on householders rather than what they chose as a lifestyle in the first place? Sure there are a few slokas thrown in about bairaagya and so on but, a frail minority one would agree! Now you may say that they were trying to save the rotten souls of us the great unwashed -- but one wonders ...! I thought God was in-charge of saving souls or Prophets/Awataars!
