You have to understand the difference between Pitru Sapa & Pitru durita. Sapa relates to curse and duritha simply means difficulties, sufferings etc. While the first definitly could affect the native in many ways, they second need not. It might simply indicates the status of father or ancestors, their own life, etc. Yes, in some cases this could also affect ones life in one way or other.
