Having in my youth come across a few relatives and relatives of friends and acquaintances thereof who attempted or committed suicide, this has been a topic of curiosity. I have tried to expand my 'morbid' interest in this area as some may call through associating with those individuals who have actually had more experience in dealing with individuals who contemplated/attempted/committed suicide, psychologists and psychiatrists and I have read some of the new-age thoughts about suicide. That background not to hoist myself on my petard but to assure you that I am not casually interested in this area! I have yet to come across a single jyotishi who actually predicted specifically a suicide. Obviously, there are 'groups' of individuals who are prone to attempting suicide due to their mental makeup, their mental conditions, due to social circumstances and what not. My challenge to any astrologer if they can accurately " RETRO_PREDICT " a blind test which will have them look at a group of charts a certain proportion of whom had committed suicide. Correct identification and approximate dates (plus or minus two weeks?) would gauge the success of this experiment. Four weeks is about the optimum where one can 'watch' over another individual (friend, loved one, relative, etc) to make sure they do not do something that the remaining survivors shall regret -- for the rest of their lives! I am apalled at the callousness that people show towards something so significant as suicide! Particularly astrologers who are supposed to spread hope even in dire circumstances and not PROMOTE NEGATIVITY EVEN MORE! I am not saying tell lies, but PLEASE do not lose your humanity in the rush for becoming an ORACLE! Next time any of you run into an astrologer who is claiming or proclaiming that such and such would or may commit suicide, ask honestly and humbly, " Guruji, how many that you have predicted for have committed suicide and how many could be saved due to your warnings? The case refered to by Gopi DD, I also will not like to comment, as it is very sensitive, yes but if the karmas are executed in such a way that any possible yog in any chart can be overcome. Their are natives, one prominant native i will not prefer to name as he is a prominent Industrialist and also runs successfully his industrial house also has short life span, but on the advise by his astrologer he is executing his karmas by building temples all over the the country, giving charity to the needy and also performing prayers recommended by karma kand, is still alive and his karmas has given him extended life span U may be having a different experience, but yes when any yog is their in the chart, those thoughts do keep coming in our mind. If a foreign yog is there we get thoughts of going overseas, similarly, when any negative yog is their in the chart even the future happening thought does come to our mind, but coz of non belief in the 6th sense we fail to take corrective steps, and as u hv once rightly quoted Mr. Raman's say that " " Fools are controlled by planets, Wise control the planets " " , we fall into the doings of planets and increase our miseries. Right? And if the individual is wise they would be able to use freedom-of-choice/free-will and be able to avoid the destined suicide! Correct?
