The muhurat of study should be commenced at an auspicious day which you will be told about. Regarding your question about Upapada, please got o lists and put Upapada in search, UL was very often discussed topic, so you will find answers on most of your questions. PLease buy Crux of Vedic Astrology / Sr Pt SAnjay Rath. It is perfect book for you at this stage. Regardnig your second question / do connect karakatva / significations of Sy (or any other graha) with those of bhava (houses)and you-ll get some meanings of those positions. Always connenct 1 karakatva of graha with one of bhava. We cannot connect 2 karakatva of graha, or bhava only. Because if you take Sy for example in 1 st bhava / that Sy can be in totaly different rasi. it can be swaksetra or ucha (exalted)or can be debilitated. The difference is very big. Also there are maybe other graha with Sy / and it will modify everything, various dristi can be present on tsuch Sy / this changesd also etc etc. So you see there is very hard situation to say the results will be the same. All the above might have happened because the tenth lord Sun is a malefic,aspected by Saturn from the twelfth house,Rahu aspects etc.Kutumbha sthana was also bad.during the above period.
