Guest guest
Namaste Rohiniji and Other Senior members, I purchase a book named " Planets and Children " Edited by Shri K.N.Raoji.Even i truly respect K.N.raoji but some of the rules in this book for 'Timing Birth Of Children' are not up to the mark as per my application i.e List of Rule: Illustrating the research through horoscope of parents: Rule 1: Saturn should have aspected the: a) fifth house or b) fifth lord or c) ninth house or d) ninth lord within nine months of the birth of the child, through a) direct motion or b) retrograde motion,in which case it will give effects from the previous house also. Rule 2: Jupiter also should have aspected like saturn any of of the four points mentioned above within nine months of the birth of the child. Rule 3: Mars should have aspected any of the four points but with in seventy five days. Rule 4: Moon should have aspected any of the four above given points or the lagna of moon of the parents but with in seventy two hours. I had applied this rule to only 10 charts known personally known to me out of which it works only for 6.So i request to senior members,to plz solve this issue. Thanks
Guest guest
Dear Pankaj ji, Far be it for a tiny ant like me to comment on what KN Rao-ji wrote! I have not read this book but I am sure he probably did not claim that ALL of the rules would apply in 100% cases. In fact if you diligently test, you will find many cases where rules coming from Ancient and what most of us consider as nearly Divine -- namely the rules given by Sages like Parashara, Jaimini, Satya, Bhrigu, and Doyens like Varahamihira, Kalidasa, and others do not work 100% of times! This has, is and perhaps shall remain the enigma of astrology always! If such were not the case why would there be som much discrepancy even between sincere, dedicate and otherwise honest astrologers? Why do we use different ayanamshas, different dasha systems and on and on? For that matter, why do we have different cultures, different food-preferences, different languages, different values? If Jyotish were truly the ultimate descriptor of humanity, would you not agree that it would incorporate all these different variations and different slants and perspectives? Perhaps astrology and its rules and framework must now expand and embrace the obviously much expanded spectrum of possibilities that human beings have embraced across the globe in different and variable amounts, qualitatively and quantitatively. I know it is tempting to assume that only one (our!) preferred approach and 'factors' and parameters are the one and only unmistaken approach and there will be dissenting and loud views and promises from time to time (the bigger the HORN, the more sound it makes but all it is doing is simply moving a larger column of AIR!), but that is not the way to get to the bottom of it (pun unintended!). What I am saying is that when you read writings by the likes of K.N. Rao, B.V. Raman, S.S. Sareen, P.S. Sastry and so many others from earlier, contemporary and yet to come Jyotishis, do not approach those with the mentality of a critique because you are not quite 'there' yet! If you read these as a critic or sceptic, just out to find something that does not fit, you will surely miss out on what FITS! You would have wasted your money and time and how will that benefit you? You know how gold-nuggets are collected? You sift pounds and pounds of sand and then come up with a few shiny pieces of gold! Astrology is not any different. It is not the quest for the impatient...! Keep observing, but do not judge hastily, at least not the likes of K.N. Rao! Guest guest
Dear Panjak ji, If you got 6/10 for a rule than please consider that the rule works. In conducting experiments in science we are taught that anything that gives you higher ratio then 50/50 is no longer operating on chance or randomness but is operating on predictablity, meaning that the result is not due to chance but to some principle operating which gives some sense of predictability to the outcome. Thanks. --- On Mon, 7/20/09, Rohiniranjan <rohini_ranjan wrote: Rohiniranjan <rohini_ranjan Re: Rules For Timing Birth Of Children?
