Hence please chant gayatri, or any mantra you are initiated, or vshnu sahasranam, or simply ram or siva nam. Many of you have been suggested to chantings by gurus of the forum. God has given us the oppertunity of consecutive grahans. The pitru tharpan has do be done at the start for surya grahan and after the ending for chandra grahan. The procedure is Soorya grahan- snan, tharpan, japa and punya snan ( if possible in a theerth) otherwise snan at home, snan for pooja moorthy's and puja, Chandra grahan - snan, japa, punya snan amd tharpan. Again snan in the morning, snan for moorthys and pooja. This is a great oppertunity. Initite children also to chant namas like ram, siva, muruga, sakthi according to your family tradition. In kali oi is nama snakeerthan and japa is the solution and this is a great oppertunity. There is a tamil song of thiruvachagam which says " we need his blessings even to worship him " He has given us an easy opprtunity and by chanting 1000 times we get the benefit of chanting 10 lakhs.
