In your case Rahu is placed in the 10th (Karma) of moon and 9th (Bhaghya) of lagna. So it is better to propitiate rahu. wearing a precious stone only increases its influence whether good or bad. Rahu is already with exalted mars in the nakshtra of Mars (ie: its nakshtradhipathy is exalted and is with that planet). But the real reason for job loss is retrograde Jupiter in the nakshtra of saturn who is the dispositor of Rahu (Rahu rashyadhipathy). So rahu is also corrupting saturn who is your yoga karaka and well placed in the lagna along with lagna lord. Hence Rahu is the underlying factor that is corrupting Mars, saturn - hence the benefic results that you should have otherwise obtained is taken due to the curruption of rahu - indicated by retrograde jupiter. It is a complex relationship and I did not expect you to understand very well. That is why I kept my reply so short. Hope you understand the reasoning.
