Guest guest
I am advised to wear Yellow Sapphire of worth not less than 4.8 carat, as my ascendant is Sagittarius lagna. As I have read that natural Yellow Sapphire gem is very rare to obtain (but which is essential for the astrological remedy to take effect) I wish to know the steps that I could take to ensure that the gem I buy is of good quality. One jeweller has said that he will provide a gem certificate also. I saw a recommendation in this forum about IGI certificate for a diamond as well as a diamond quality of VVS1 and colour F or G. Please advise me on similar information in the case of Yellow Sapphire as well. Regards, Hari
Guest guest
Dear hari , you want to buy a genuin yellow saffire it is avalable eaisly but at geniun jeweller a 4.8 crts yellow saffire of good quality would go around 8000 to 10000 rs per carat so the geniun yellow saffire of silon mines will cost you around 40000 to 50000 rs if u go for heat treated yellow saffire which acculy comes from bangkok ..will cost you less it would cost u between 2500 to 4000 per carat so the cost of yellow saffire would be not more than -- 12000 or more ... and if u want the know the gem is real or no .. you can go for gem certification which is now available by paying some small amount of 200 to 500 rs .. you will also get the report stating its (natural yellow saffire) or (treated yellow saffire) in both the cases the stones are yellow saffire .. only the thing is 1) nature yellow saffire . 2) treated yellow saffire . i suggest you please go for gem certification for any gemstone which you buy .. you will get all detail reports for gemstone you buy if you go for certification ... u can get your certification done from (GII) gemological institute of india . PLEASE NOTE - TOPAZ IS MOSTLY GIVEN AS YELLOW SAPPHIRE TO THE COUSTOMERS . BEWARE .. AND DO TAKE OUT THE CERTIFICATION OF THE STONE YOU BUY . Guest guest
Dear Mr Hariharan, When I was in Jaipur for some time I used to have my friend a prof, who wants to have a yellow sapphire for his personal use.on survey it was noted it's reliability is always questionable and the cost too is not in common mans reach.Even it is not indispensable.More som you adopt other means.Iam also a sagittarus ascendant but neve roccured to my mind i wear yellow sapphire.but iw as uggested wera a ruby.Till now remained a dream. But i rpocure one semi precious Topaz in south Africa while I was working there and I wear it only when i sit for prayers and on holidays. My paryers and my firm faith in God has always helped and made me very confident and also bless what ever recognition God has blessed as of now.My suggestion is you need not starin for the sake of yellow sapphire. Guest guest
dear sankara narayanana, Heating of gemstones to enhance their color goes back centuries. It is considered a natural type of treatment since the process is basically a continuation of the processes that occur in the ground. The stone is heated to a very high temperature, which causes the inclusions thats why Gemstones Have Color in ) to reform themselves and improve the color by making either darker, lighter, more intense, or of a different color. It has been properly stated that without heat treatment the world would be without many colored gemstones. Because colored gemstones occurring in the colors we see are very rare. But heating can take an off-color stone and turn it into a beautiful gemstone. So don't be worried about heat treatment. Guest guest
Dear Hari , Frankly speaking mostly many people use topaz as substitue of yellow sapphire ... because the chemical composition of yellow sapphire and topaz is somewhat same .. yellow topaz chemical formula is Al2SiO4(F,OH)2, its composition known as aluminum fluoro-hydroxyl-silicate. It is insoluble in acids. . while the chemical composition of yellow sapphire is pure AL2O3 ( ALLUMINIUM OXIDE ) so both of them have the composition of alluminium in it .. so mostly it can be use .. but if you want the pure composition of alluminium its only in yellow sapphire ... so yellow sapphire is called pure pushkraj . secondly about heat treatment .. now a days all gemstones and semi gemstones mostly comes with heat treatment to enhance there looks .. so topaz can also come with heat treatment .. THE SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE METHORD TO SEE IF THE STONE IS HEAT TREATED OR NO .. JUST KEEP THE STONE UNDER 150WT BULB FOR 15 MINS IF THE COLOUR INCREASES ITS HEAT TREATED .. AFTER COOLING IT WILL COME TO ITS ORIGINAL COLOUR .. BUT THIS WILL HAPPEN ONLY TO SOME OF THE GEMSTONES .. OTHER WISE ALWAYS HAVE TO SEE THE INCLUSION ABOUT TOPAZ AND YELLOW SAPPHIRE THE MAIN THING ABOUT YELLOW SAPPHIRE IS THAT IT COMES FROM THE CORUNDUM FAMILY ... WHILE TOPAZ COMES FROM TWELVE BREASTPLATES STONES FAMILY . SO NOW U HAVE TO CHOOSE THAT WHAT DO U WANT TO WEAR .. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU TO WEAR A REAL YELLOW SAPPHIRE OTHER THAN TOPAZ . Guest guest
Dear Jeasal, This info is wonderfull. Franckly, I used to think that Topaz & Yellow Golden Saphaire are one and same. So Golden Yellow Saphaire is called Pushparag. I suppose Topaz does not have an Indian nomenclature. Thank you for the detailed information.
