Mainly because of Jupiter's affliction by Saturn also because of the dasa bhukti period. Let me elaborate further. Your brother's chart has some serious afflictions and weaknesses. Unless action is taken to address these afflictions and weaknesses he is going to have some pretty tough times ahead. The afflictions are: Venus being lord of the 8th house, is the most malefic planet. In his chart, Venus is less than 1 degree from the most effective point of the 3rd house of initiatives. So the 3rd house gets badly afflicted. By aspect, the 9th house of fortune also gets afflicted. Affliction by the most malefic planet is a matter of great concern. Saturn, lord of the 12th house of losses, is closely conjoined with Jupiter, lord of the 10th house of profession. Moon, lord of the 5th house of creative intelligence, is closely conjoined with malefic Rahu. Kethu closely aspects Mercury, lord of the 7th house of partners. All these afflictions are matters of serious concern. Pisces ascendant persons have 5 planets which are considered malefic: Venus, Sun, Saturn, Rahu and Kethu. So generally, Pisceans tend to have more challenges (which is a diplomatic way of saying " problems " ) in life. Of these 5 malefics, 4 afflict either houses or other planets. By aspect, the 9th house of fortune also gets afflicted. Not good again. Venus dasa lasts for 20 years. So the overall picture is quite dismal. However, God in his infinite mercy, has shown a way in which the bad effects of these afflictions can be reduced. He needs to propitiate the malefics: Venus, Saturn, Rahu & Kethu. They are currently transiting their signs of debilitation making career and marital prospects difficult now. Problems may continue when they exit these signs because then both will enter dusthana houses. Jupiter will enter the 1st house in May, 2010 and Mars will enter the 7th house at the end of July, 2010. If he begins now to continuously perform the recommended astral remedies the situation may likely improve in both areas after July.The Venus mahadasa begins in October of 2010 which could bring about marital prospects after then.
