Guest guest
While many, if not most Jyotishis spending their valuable time on Internet Jyotish_Fora are very focused upon learning new techniques and so on which will turn them into successful predictors through learning those techniques and there always remains that mystical cloud over Jyotish that there is some " HOLY GRAIL " that will transform anyone into a successful predictors, does not interest me personally. Over the many years I have seen lot of systems and techniques being introduced into Jyotish mainstream. None of the introductions whether it by KP or Systems Approach, Jaimini paddhati repopularized, KK Shah of Nargoal Gujrat's exciting system, and about fifteen prominent others and nuances that just keep clicking up the 'counter'. And then there are the ayanamshas and other 'modifications' and what not! What I am seeing is that these additions just keep adding new 'possibilities' to the bag of tricks that Jyotish has! I am not using bag of tricks in a negative sense but as alternatives that all professionals keep handy. It is the nature of Human reality! Let us say you are a surgeon and after cutting your patient open you find that things are not exactly as were 'previewed'. He or She then has to have a plan B or plan C to make sure that the patient comes back alive! While Jyotishis have much less of an immediate urgency, than a surgeon, the good ones do need to know a wide collection of techniques etc. But what I have noticed that despite so many different 'flavours', Mainstream Jyotish does not change and despite a masala here or a 'chonk' there or 'tadka' that makes a dal preparation come alive, the basic meal remains still what Parashar proposed and a few others modulated! Hence, my outlook is: Why even waste internet bandwidth in rehashing what has already been written and translated etc by so many already! Why serve the rewarmed " pau-Bhaji " or the reheated " Rasam/Sambaram " ? Those who need to just have to hunker down and BUY and read the hard copy texts and learn through the standard way. There is NO SHORT-CUT, folks, no matter what you have been told or promised ;-) What I am more interested in, is in knowing the modern history and practice of Jyotish. We hear from few individuals here about their remedies experiences and so on, but we hardly know anything about the remedies that are/were practiced by famous writers and jyotishis such as: BV Raman KN Rao (he has written a bit at times in places decrying the gemstone and indirect pooja etc that run rampant these days) R. Santhanam Sastri Shah Bepin Behari Krishnamurthi Iyer MC Jain Suryanarain Vyas The list continues ... Why did these modern DOYENS shy away from sharing their personal experiences with REMEDIAL ASTROLOGY? I asked directly and publicly a few of the relatives of these people but no answer or vague ones! I wonder what was going on...! Anyone has the answers (no speculations, please...!) Rohiniranjan
Guest guest
Dear Rohini ji,  Earlier had compose a detailed and long reply but deleted it when i realised that its digressing from the topic and very boring . wish i had the gift of putting things in simple & beautiful way yet so clear way.  allow me to share the my experience from a patient perspective, who have followed the prescriptions by doctors :-).  1. yellow saphire - wore it on advice of a family astrologer with promise of a jump in earning. actually happend. wore it when i was jobless and the next jon was with a hike of almost 3 times salary.  2. Faith! - wants a better and stable professional life and i m a divorcee, who is hoping for a good married and personal life. so got a interesting advice from a family friend whom my mother went to. she told my mother that i have only pick either a good married life or a professional life. if i want good professional life.. i have to wear Red coral but it wil make my professional life worse no chace of love/married life but if i wear diamond it will make my personal life great bt professional life no stability. hmm as you can see its a difficult choice! So coming to the subject of this point, faith. Through this , i got an opporunity to get in touch bhaskar ji. I have been in touch with him for quite sometime and benefited by getting free advice and guidance. And his guidance and prediction were more than helpful and true to sort out problems. And as you can see in his interactieon here also, his reply to me was honest when i asked the same question to him. He told me that I didnt require to wear any other gemstone other than yellow saphire but if i still want then i can wear red coral to help a little bit in my professional life though he insist its not important. I am going to wear one soon. Because the point is FAITH. like any other job/area, you need to have trust in the person, whom you bestowed with helping you out with your problem and follow the remedies. Rest as they " upparwale se kaun bada hai " and " honi ko kaun taal sakta hai "  but still we still have reputed doctore, hospitals with hope of getting better.. and most of the times we do good better!  3. Prayer - i have been saying my night praers regularly for quite some years. few mantra of graha and trsut me nothing gives me more peace and confidence than belief that whtever it is.. if i love nad respect HIM.. he will take care of me.. and i have number of incidents wherein I have actually seen the power of mantra!!  I hope this mail express things in a clear way and hope it doestn offend anyone. Guest guest
Dear Dreams " Unlimited " ! Thanks for your response posted in the anecdotal mode! I am happy for you that you got so many beneficial effects. How do you know, though, that you were not going to experience all those effects due to better times (that does happen!), and not due to the gemstones etc that you wore? If you had removed the gemstones while things were moving upwards, and then suffered a decline, that would be a strong proof of your fortunes being due to the gemstones or pooja etc. Woul you not agree? Has anyone been brave enough to explore that? Guest guest
Dear Rohini Ji,  You can call me Rajesh. I am the same person, who misused the internet to post as someone else to ask for a query on behalf of a friend of mine. And you were more than kind enough to give me offer a a free detail reading to by asking to post my query, Bu tI didnt took that offer as since I can afford to pay a little amount, I will rather let you and other members use you vaulable time for others who might require your guidance. And anyway  I have more than my share of free reading and guidance from  Coming to your point of remedies working or not. I listing few example below -  1.Power of prayer - For my official trip I wnt to Jaipur and since i am little relgigious, I wnt to pay my regards to Ajmer-sharif. And i asked for mannat (like a very ordinary man) to somehow, make e  things happen with the only love of my life with whome i was not in touch for 6-7 months.. we jst drifted apart for no reason at all. And when i asked that mannat there.. i dont know why . i had this strong feeling that before my car wil reach to jaipur.. something will happen. and BOOM!!! out of the blue for no reason at all.. the moment i was entering my room.. i got a call from her.. just a normal call!!!  2. Gemstone - before i wore yellow saphire, I was advice to wear Opel to strenghted my luck and personal life (love, married life).. and trust me during the period(3 month) the things were moving or looking good in my personal life. more peace adn more happiness. more brighter outlook towards life.  Personally, I believe prayers and " dua " or blessing from someone works better. bt then again like a lazy people, we prefer gemstones as you have to EARN or DESERVE..to get a blessing and i m not exception  withregard to your question whats the guarantee that good thing happen due to phookraaj, all i can say is that.. my car is running smoothly.. though i can point out it the exact and ONLY reason for it.. is it oil, petrol, engine, tyre pressure etc. but why fix it if its runnning smoothly? though i will keep going in for " servicing " to fix and keep improving the " perfomance " a little bit bt more importantly its not just the car.. its the drive (me) who is going to drive it to its optimal performance Warm regards, rajesh --- On Fri, 12/25/09, rohinicrystal jyotish_vani wrote: rohinicrystal <jyotish_vani Re: JYOTISH_REMEDIES (WONDERING...) Guest guest
Mr Rajesh, Experiences that come out of one's own feelings as well as action always give moral boost. This is where the confidence built up is needed.Prayers are answered.mannats r fulfilled. That belief and faith inturn works on our 9th and 10th house to built up fortunes. If lagna gets strengthenes by trust in prayers.important houses to lead life fall in line.be it 5th,9th and lagna. Remedies followed out of one's own interest or on some body suggestions are meant to remove those (malefic planets) bad effects and strengthen those(benific planets) good effects.Dasa lords to some times bow their heads to your earnest wishes. If Ajmere Shariff has given faith,it is wonderful as blind actions coming out of faith can make a person happy and lead life. Hence, my outlook is: Why even waste internet bandwidth in rehashing what has > already been written and translated etc by so many already! Why serve the rewarmed " pau-Bhaji " or the reheated " Rasam/Sambaram " ? Those who need to just have to hunker down and BUY and read the hard copy texts and learn through the standard way. There is NO SHORT-CUT, folks, no matter what you have been told or promised ;-) > > What I am more interested in, is in knowing the modern history and practice of Jyotish. Guest guest
Dear Rajesh, You will have to excuse me for not remembering you, because I do get a lot of letters and e-letters and am only human :-( I too believe a lot in the power of selfless-charity, Prayer and Self-less service (although even selfish service and selfish charity are better than no service and no charity!). Those are matters of faith and there is a magic in faith, without any doubt. However, sometimes karma is so much of a burden that mere faith does not work. Faith also perhaps works with gemstones and other tona totka (placebo effect is a REAL effect, though not as measurable or consistent or predictable!). I also understand your pragmatic position regarding " why tinker and open the bonnet if the engine is working well, anyway! " But then, we cannot and should not claim that it was the gemstone or whatever remedy we utilized that brought in the solution. We should report such instances but then leave a bit of room for doubt and uncertainty! So that those who wish to, can probe further. Sadly, even serious jyotishis do not leave that 'margin of uncertainty' in their pronouncements and the myth gets distorted, magnified as it perpetuates. I like your honesty and candour! Faith! - wants a better and stable professional life and i m a divorcee, who is hoping for a good married and personal life. so got a interesting advice from a family friend whom my mother went to. she told my mother that i have only pick either a good married life or a professional life. if i want good professional life.. i have to wear Red coral but it wil make my > professional life worse no chace of love/married life but if i wear diamond it will make my personal life great bt professional life no stability. hmm as you can see its a difficult choice! Because the point is FAITH. like any other job/area, you need > to have trust in the person, whom you bestowed with helping you out with your problem and follow the remedies. Over the many years I have seen lot > of systems and techniques being introduced into Jyotish mainstream. None of the introductions whether it by KP or Systems Approach, Jaimini paddhati repopularized, KK Shah of Nargoal Gujrat's exciting system, and about fifteen prominent others and nuances that just keep clicking up the 'counter'. I am not using bag of tricks in a negative sense but as alternatives that all professionals keep handy. It is the nature of Human reality! Let us say you are a surgeon and after cutting your patient open you find that things are not exactly as were 'previewed'.
