Here the attempt to suicide or threatening to could be due to reasons (A) an attempt to get something done/agreed by the parents or failure in education / love etc (B) medical problem due to which some persons exhibit suicidal tendancies. The reason could be many / several and easy to misinterpret by the parents or doctors alike. Some could display aggressiveness while others could be due to grief. Just like a habbitual alchoholic will give any excuse to get his peg, these native need the least excuse to jump down the hole. Even the death of neighbors cat would be enough. So first make absolutely sure whether it is category (a) or (B). Astrologicaly, There are a few factors that may contribute to such tendancies and even could be termed chronic. 1) 6th Lord Mercury & 8th Lord Sun together in the 12th. The strength of 8th house & its lord is a key factor in detemining the life span of an individual. Gulika has navamsa in the 8th house. At present fortunately Jupiter is aspecting it and Mars & Saturn though giving Papa madhya Sthithy are actualy moving apart. Still if they could afford it or has the means it is better to conduct Havana itself otherwise go for the japa (He should do it) and possibly abhisheka at Lord Shiva temple for his sake(Could be done by parents). So 8th lord in the 12th is not very good. 2) Lagna is having Mana karaka moon in the sign of Saturn along with Gulika and aspected by Saturn. Though Saturn aspecting aspecting his own house is very good, its aspect on Moon already afflicted by Gulika as a malefic planet is not good. Saturn also is afflicted by being the dispositor of Gulika. Saturn is in Sthira rasi also and that too in the house of Mars (agneya + Jala rasi). This indicates high volatility of mind. 3) Venus the yoga karaka - 5th & 10th lord is placed along with Lagna lord but is in Sarpa Veshtitha drekana. So 5th rulling ones own Prajna & 10th - karma & agjna(commanding power) is thus tied, he should probably feeling tied down. 4) Mars + Rahu in the 3rd - aggressiveness with a twist. 5) Moon's Navamsa on the Vrishabha, indicates rogavastha at the age of 20 as per horasara. Considering the above and 6th lord mercury being with Sun vaidyakarak, I would advice to discuss this with a homeo doctor. There are exllent medicines in Homeopathy that could bring an equilibrium in most cases. This hold good even if the case is not category (b). The dispositor of Sun+Mercury is the second of Lagna (raksha sthana), which gives a little more support also. Except for amsayu method, which shows very low life span, upto about apr-2009, also the period he must have displayed the tendancy, none of the other methods of ayu computations doesn't show such low life span. But in general, his time is not good till around aug-2011. yet I doubt whether it could life threatening. At this point, a doctor is the best bet and then you may also conduct a mrithyunjay havana if possible AT HOME.
