Dear Astrologers

Please clarify on how we should read the strength of Moon in a chart. Please

excuse me if my question is very basic. I am trying to get a clear understanding

a learn more.

1) Should we consider Moon as any other planet in astrology as read its strength

based on its placement from Lagna and the its position in the chart like its

exaltation and debilitation.

2) Does the waxing and weaning feature of the moon have any influence. If so, is

it limited only to natives born in night time. Is there any difference in Moon's

strength based on the birth between day and night.

3) How should we consider a full moon placed in its delibitated sign Virchiga

(Scorpio) rasi.

4) Will Moon get combust.

Please advise.

Regards

Anoop

==> Use balas (>1 exist) as for other planets. Placement from houses does not

represent strength (for any planet) as it does towards the nature and role of

the planet.

Moon's strength based on the birth between day and night.

==> It influences the qualitative nature of moon which then must be considered

with the balas of moon. Ex-Deb is really a phasic phenomenon that is like the

paksha of moon (applied to other planets as well). There have been some

observations that indicate that arohi planets get a boost during shuklapaksha

and contrary effects for avarohi in krishnapaksha. It is better to have a

scorpio full moon than a scorpio new moon. But again, there is no " better this

or worse that " ! One makes their bed (karmically-speaking) and must then sleep in

it.

==> Exaltation -debility primarily alter or influence the qualitative nature of

any planet though they form a fractional component in shadbala too. Often

jyotishis overrate exaltation as a descriptor of strength.

==> I have not seen any convincing evidence of combustion (alone) as a

significant defect or weakening influence for ANY PLANET! There is always other

additional blemishes for a bad effect to surface and then those confound the

role of combustion which is overstated by practitioners.
