Who are the real planets !!

I have often wondered(like children often do) how the planets/ heavenly bodies

that happens to be 100 some light years away from us in distance, and that too

they are " jaar " (inert) as in " not chaitanya " although rotating and transiting,

hold so much power & influence over us earthly beings?

 

Now is it possible the ancient rishi munis who wrote the classics actually spoke

in metaphors, and symbols as poets and authors often do..Could these

planets(above the sky) actually represent actual " human beings " (right here on

earth) who posses these characteristics, qualities assigned to these planets?
